- Water-dwelling predatory animals
- Large polyps allow for digestion of larger prey
- Sexes are separate in some species
- Asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction can occur
- In sexual reproduction, males release sperm to stimulate females in order to release eggs
- Fertilization occurs after release of eggs/sperm
- Anemones eject sperm/eggs through mouth
- Fertilized eggs develop into planula, grows and matures into a polyp
- Reproduce asexually through budding or binary fission
